Changing the Perception of Food: Understand Cravings

In this deeply insightful and personal episode of Decoding Health, Dr. Urban welcomes back Rance Edwards for a full-length conversation. Rance unpacks the critical gaps in the healthcare system and the vital role health coaches play in translating clinical plans into actionable lifestyle changes. Drawing from his experience at Rivero and his own transformative health journey—overcoming obesity, type 2 diabetes, and emotional eating—Rance shares how real change happens through education, empowerment, and reframing the stories we tell ourselves. From breaking down cognitive dissonance to navigating relationships with food, Rance offers real-world tools for lasting health. He also opens up about coaching his own father and how health coaching bridges trust and communication between patients and providers. If you're feeling lost, overwhelmed, or stuck in cycles of poor health habits, this episode is a must-listen.
